• I love how the map has that used, slightly wavy look from being rolled up, even though it wasn’t.
• The coloring also suggests that the map is ancient and has been through a lot in its long life, though a few holes and fraying at the edges would drive this point home.

Cons

• This displate has the same issue as the other earth-toned displate. It will look amazing in a room with brown furniture or an overall earthy shade but might look a bit off in a pastel or light-colored room. If you aren’t worried about that or the judgy looks from your aunt, go for it and leave your concerns in the dust.

Hollow Knight Displate

This is one of those phenomenal games with amazing graphics of cute enchanted beings. In this game, Hollow Knight, those cute little plague doctor look-a-likes are actually knights. This poster is beautifully done, and I want it on my wall right now.

The coloring is mesmerizing and mystical. The Knight and bubbles bring forth a child-like joy to the poster. Maybe he’s contemplating whether or not the water has been poisoned with acid. The displate is spooky but in an adorable way.

You cannot tell me the signs/displates for this game are anything other than pure magic and fantasy. This game reminds me of Zero from Nightmare before Christmas meets the tree spirits in Princess Mononoke meets a plague doctor in cartoon form. • I love the coloring in this displate. It’s a calming sea of blues, light purples, and pale pinks.

Cons

• The only con I can think of is that I do not own it yet. Although, it might not go that well next to your contemporary paintings of boring stuff, so just throw those away- just kidding. 
• It has a playful tone to it and might not be appropriate for non-gaming rooms if that isn’t something front and center about your personality.

Dark Souls – The Painted World

This is a breathtaking displate featuring the Painted World of Ariamis, formerly known as the Great Painting of Ariamis, which is the closest you will get to entering the mystical world unless you happen to have a Peculiar Doll in your collection.

The road leading up to the tree cathedral is intense yet beautifully colored. The detail given to the town the dragon is lying in is well done, and the tree itself reminds me of the Yggdrasil or Tree of Life from Norse legends. As a massive fan of magical-looking trees, Norse legends, and Norwegian mythology, I absolutely love this displate.

It might not be something you put in your living room unless you are 100% okay with being a nerd out loud, but it is a must-have displate for the gaming room. Do what makes YOU happiest since this is your home we’re talking about, after all. Be sure to check out the other Dark Souls displates.

Cons

• I wish the detail on the tree was clearer and some of the path removed to make way for the tree to appear closer. It would be even more incredible if it had subtle detail you would only notice after staring at the displate for some time. 

The Witcher – Roach on the Roof Displate

This is one of the most talked about memorable glitched gaming moments. There was a part of The Witcher 3 game where Roach would get stuck on the roof with no foreseeable way to get her down. This baffled and confused many a gamer.

Why was Roach on the roof? The hilarity of the Witcher calling his mare and having her instead end up on the roof is one of my favorites. Luckily, all you had to do is move the Witcher elsewhere, call Roach, and she would make it down and over to him.

Cons

Fallout – The Road Displate

There’s something beautiful about a post-apocalyptic world and having a dog as your only companion. Mad Max did it, and here we have the same in Fallout with the german shepherd named Dogmeat, who is the player’s companion if they choose.

We see a man walking down a road with long tufts of grass growing down the center, as you would expect with a deserted road. Dog and man walk side by side, each on opposing sides of the yellow line, which adds a bit of symmetry to the displate.

The cracked road, downed power lines, and emptiness make for a solemn but beautiful work of art. Check out the other Fallout displates.

• This is an exquisitely done displate showing much detail of the post-apocalyptic world. There’s something that tugs at your heart just a bit to see a man and his dog walking through what’s left. The faded coloring just sends home the vibe.
• Everyone who has ever seen a movie, show, or game with a dog in it generally likes it because of the dog. Get this and make your dog feel like a hero.

Cons

• This is not a stress-free displate since our issues with China make this all the more real. 

Ori – Will of the Wisps Displate

I love this game; the enchanting visuals are legendary- just ask the hoards of fans who were pumped to see a sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest. There’s even a book of Ori – Will of the Wisps art that you can purchase. This specific displate is modeled after the cover of the game.

This displate shows the innocence and beauty of Will of the Wisps. The magical tree, the Spirit Willow, stands shaded by night while Ori stands on a branch with his back to his owl friend, Ku, waiting for what may come next as the little white spirit defends his friend. Be sure to check out the other Ori displates because they are gorgeous.

Cons

• The Spirit Willow needs a little more detail and definition with a small amount of darker shading to make its beauty pop.

Stray Displate

This displate is a scene straight out of the game, Stray. In this, we see the underground, dystopian land of Walled City 99, where the humans killed by a plague had first sanctioned this city away from the earth’s surface. Midtown is filled with abandoned buildings, Companions, and danger awaiting our feline protagonist.

The displate is from the cat’s perspective, about a foot off the ground. It is very realistic looking, and I’m predisposed to love this because I love cats and this one has a backpack. Check out the other Stray displates. There are some really fantastic ones in there.

Pros

• The futuristic city in this quirky game is really detailed, which shows up in this displate, along with the beer bottle and cute feline with a backpack. This is one of the more original games, and that certainly holds true about the displate, too. It might even be worth some money down the road of time. 
• You can feel the little ginger cat’s hesitation before it meets the challenges in the fast-moving city. 

Cons

• It would be cooler if one or more of the other gamer cats were peeking out from the shadows, watching our pal prepare for what awaits them. 
• It would also be cool if the gamer cat’s face were reflected in a puddle near them, but that’s a suggestion, not a con. 

Final Fantasy – Vivi Displate

How could Vivi from Final Fantasy not make a displate amazing? Final Fantasy is one of the greatest and most popular games ever created and has stood the test of time, with many modern games still digging this one out of the archives today. It has been around for many years and appeals to a wide range of ages and generations.

Vivi is a sweet little mage capable of intense magic when he puts his mind to it and throws away his anxieties. I love Vivi and his charming little outfit. His story is so moving, and though he had great magic, he was always a good friend.

If anything, this displate should make you set your anxieties aside, face the day’s challenges bravely, and know you will come through it wiser than you were a day before. “Lead your short life in a meaningful way and always to its full potential,” is what Vivi would tell you is the most important thing to remember in this journey.

In this displate, we see an unsure Vivi looking into a puddle where his reflection shows a stronger, more confident Vivi creating a fire spell. Check out the other Final Fantasy displates. There is a ton of Final Fantasy displates; you just have to search for each game specifically.

• This is one of those hard-to-frame pieces because the wood grain-looking frames would all look silly with this displate.

Okami Displate

Even if you didn’t know what Okami was or who the white wolf was on the displate, you would likely see this and think it was a beautiful Japanese picture with a magical take on famous Japanese artwork mixed with mythology.

The game is lovely on its own, and the white wolf is no ordinary wolf but a sun goddess named Amaterasu. This has been a visually gorgeous game from the beginning, and I love how it is reflected in this original artwork.

The coloring and imagery are stunning, yet subtle, without any loud details. It would look amazing on any wall in your home and radiate peaceful vibes. Check out the other Okami displates and be prepared to see some seriously beautiful art.
